So this past weekend I went down to Newport News to see my pal Vickie. Which meant I went by the infamous Exit 104, aka the home of the Cinnabon in the truck stop, not only once, but twice because I had to come home. And I resisted the urge to stop. Truth to tell, I didn't think too much about it on my way down to Vickie's but on the way back, the thought was there. I stared at that sign really hard as I drove on by, but, I stayed in that far left lane and kept on going.
However......I can't say I was very good over the weekend and I think I'll blame Vickie (ok, just a little) because she had made these really really good spicy cookies that were right out of the oven and then came with a glass of milk. Yum!!! Not only that, she had a brownie recipe from The Pioneer Woman that had caramel and chocolate chips and nuts in it that we made Saturday evening and oh.my.goodness!! They were absolutely delicious!! Needless to say I had quite the sweet tooth this past weekend and it got happy!
I think the most part for the sweet tooth was because of the furlough and that did kind of put me on edge. So what better thing to do than eat, right? (Not to mention Vicki made spaghetti for dinner and I do love spaghetti!!) The good part is I gained only a pound which is better than 5. I have been pretty stagnant but of course that is my own fault for not doing what I am supposed to do, but at least I haven't gained any back from what I lost in the first place.
At any rate, with the whole furlough thing, I won't be going anywhere for a while, so I won't be tempted by the all mighty Cinnabon. And that's a good thing. :-)
